4th of July

4th of July weekend was pretty laid back around the Wilson household. We spent most of the weekend hanging out with family and relaxing. On the 4th, we did go to the Sharp's house to swim and then had my family over for dinner. Later that evening we all piled in the car to go watch the fireworks. Parker loved them!

Granna and Daddy Jim with 3 out of 7  grandchildren.

The 7 layer dip I made in the shape of the American Flag. Hungry little hippos couldn't resist eating it before I got a picture.

Parker found one of his cousins Capri Sun and would not let go of it the entire firework show.

11 months

My baby is 11 months old going on 5yrs old. The boy has been walking since 10.5 months old, but has officially mastered walking. We no longer have a crawler. He is in to EVERYTHING. The picture above is of him and a Big Globe that he pushed all around the house until he fell over. He loves yogurt. His new favorite is Yo Baby Yogurt drink. He walks around the entire house drinking his yogurt. He loves bananas as well and will eat an entire banana in 10 minutes flat.  He can't stand getting his diaper changed, so we often run around the house naked.  He loves his dog Pippa and can be found cuddling with her in the dog bed or sharing her food.  Still does not say mama, but we have a new word, "Da". The boy loves music and will start shaking his booty as soon as we turn it on.

Parker has been such a joy these past 11 months and Ben and I are enjoying every minute.

Happy Fathers Day!

Happy first fathers day to my sweetie. Parker sure is a lucky boy to have you as his father.  I look forward to watching your relationship with your boy grow and grow. I love you both!

Happy fathers day to my daddy too. Can't wait to have you home all the time. Although mom might beg to differ. Just kidding! Love you bunches. xoxo

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day Weekend in Orange Beach, Alabama with our dear friends, the Reeds. As usual, we had a blast. It was actually one of our favorite trips down there. We spent the majority of our time hanging around the house and pool, but we did venture out to the beach one day and to the OB marina to watch the big fishing boats come in from their weekend fishing tournament.

While down there we had some good eats. We caught some crabs off the dock and had some yummy meals of crab cakes and stuffed crab. Of course we did make it to the Waffle House for breakfast!

The mama's and the boys in their matching outfits! We thought it was appropriate to wear their sail fish outfits to the weigh in.

Just a few of the boats coming in from fishing all weekend.

My sweet boy playing with the hose out back of the house. He is definitely a beach boy.

Of course we had to have hermit crab races. Davids hermit crab won! Mine came in second. The others were just lazy!!

This is how our day ended everyday. With a beautiful sunset. Can't wait to get back down there!

This Boy at 10 months

Is way too advanced for me. Aren't most 10 month old still relatively calm? Mine on the other hand has started walking, well took 5 steps today, started eating big boy food, loves his sippy cup, throws fits, can climb stairs like a pro, and graduated to the creeper room. In a blink of an eye he will be a toddler. However, I do love every minute of it. Would not change a thing!

Impromptu Beach Vacation

2 Weeks ago Alabama was devastated by one of the deadliest tornadoes in US history. We were extremely lucky to have been missed by 15 miles or so by an EF-5 tornado that ripped through our county. The worst we had was no power for 5 days and had to clean out our entire refrigerator. Our entire county (and much of north Alabama) was without power for several days. It was kind of eerie. So, we packed our bags and headed to the beach with our dear friends, the Reeds.

Our Wednesday afternoon looked much like this. We spent alot of time in the bathtub. Sirens started at 6:00am and did not stop until 6:00pm. It was a long day to say the least.

With no power for days, we decided that we would leave town for a few days and evacuated to the beach. Does not happen to often that we, from N.Alabama, evacuate to the beach.

We truly are counting our blessings that we were spared any storm damage. There are thousands of people that have had their lives turned upside down. Please keep the state of Alabama in your prayers as the people continue to rebuild their lives.

9 months

Wow has this last month been a busy one as far as Parkers development goes. He is a master crawler, loves to pull up, open drawers and cabinets, climb on things, says dada, waves bye bye, started doing the sign language for "more", he loves yogurt, drinks from a sippy cup with a straw, and still NO teeth.

Playing with his new toy from the Easter Bunny. He loves to pull up and walk around the table.

I guess this is the true meaning of "sitting on the pot". Why is it that all kids love to play with pots and pans?

Another toy from the Easter Bunny. Parker loves to cruise.

He is definitely my little monkey. Loves to climb on boxes, Tupperware, and lets us not forget out of his bed.

Happy Easter

What a wonderful Easter we had celebrating with Parker and my parents. It was a beautiful day and we could not have asked for a more perfect 1st Easter with Parker.

This is the best we could get. Parker was not in the mood to take any pictures after church. He was ready for his morning nap.

Me and the hubby after church. Lessoned learned, don't sleep on wet hair because it looks like crap in the morning.

We had our traditional Easter lunch: cheeseburgers & cokes. This year we added corn on the cob and as you can tell, Parker LOVED it. Why is it most children love to gnaw on a cob?

The boy with his adorable Easter basket.

Modeling his new shades. Now if only he would keep them on he would realize how wonderful sunglasses really are.

Is this how I do it mom? Please ignore the Corona, I promise he was not drinking beer at 8 months!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter spent with family and friends. I know that I enjoyed mine, especially the coke, candy, petit fours, and burgers!
