Wine Country

After San Francisco, Ben and I went to Wine Country! We went to Sonoma, which is only 45 miles outside of the city, very quaint town.
Gorgeous view on a winery in the Russian River area. This was the view from the Iron Horse winery. The tastings were held outside. Notice the apple trees in the picture.
Heading to dinner in Napa. Napa is only 8 miles from Sonoma. Beautiful drive.
Before dinner pictures on the river front in Napa.
Posing in front of this cool Mosaic before dinner.
Dinner at Celadon. We had the best seat in the house. It was perfect.
Our first day in Sonoma. View from the Ravenswood winery. This day was rainy, but I kind of liked it. Reminded me of "a good German day" as Julie aka mom would say.
Our first wine purchase!
View from our great hotel room. Thanks to Becky we were able to get a great deal at the Lodge at Sonoma. Had our own fireplace and big bathtub.
Driving up to the Hartford Family winery. Notice the buck up ahead. He lives in the vineyards. This winery sells their Pinot Noir to the White House for all of the functions held there. Of course we bought the same bottle of Pinot Noir.
Finally, our rental car. Yes, we splurged, but it was worth it for the navigation system. Highly recommend a navigation system if you are traveling to wine country.
I had the best time with Ben in Sonoma. It was like another honeymoon for us. The region is beautiful, the wine is tasty and the food is not too shabby either. Can't wait to go back.
